Specks
Specks is a baby farm hog mix who was going to be sold for meat until another local sanctuary stepped in to help. He is a baby who will grow to be quite large with those farm hog genes! He was introduced to Bigfoot, another baby hog, and they became fast friends. Now these two are always together. Specks is extremely smart, and also a huge cuddle bug!

Bigfoot
Bigfoot is a baby farm hog who will grow to be around 1000lbs (maybe bigger)! He was rescued at around 3 months old after being attacked by a dog. He has some physical scars, but his spirit has never diminished. He loves animal crackers and belly rubs, and will climb into your lap if given the chance!

Lulu
Lulu was living all alone after being deemed “aggressive.” We took her in along with Bigfoot and Specks, and she quickly stepped in as their maternal figure. Although she can still get grumpy with people on occasion, she loves her little boys and can be found snuggling with them almost every evening. We adore Mama Lu!
Kunekune
Zane
Kunekune
Zane was rescued after being attacked by a dog, losing parts of his ears. His food-excited, pushy personality made some people wary of him, but we could see he was a sweet lover boy under the tough exterior. He loves digging holes in the dirt and hanging out with his BFF, Chewy. After food is done, he can’t resist some nose kisses and belly rubs.
Yeti
Yeti had a tough start to his life, but nothing can hold him back! He was bred and kept in an abusive and neglectful situation, where there was no consistent food, water, or shelter. As soon as he was big enough to leave his mother’s side, he made his big escape and wandered into the open desert in search of safety. A caring local farmer was able to scoop him up with his sister, Mophra, and call us for help.

Mophra
Mophra came with her brother, Yeti, after escaping from an abuse situation. Her name is a play on “Mothra” from Godzilla. We are working hard to heal some of her injuries from the abuse and neglect, while also working to rescue her parents, who are still stuck in the abusive situation. She feels safe and secure here and has become quite spunky!
Farm HogChewy
Chewy came to us from another sanctuary where he was having trouble fitting in with the more rowdy crowd. Now that he is at the Corral, he can relax in a more quiet environment. He’s really come out of his shell! He loves belly rubs, hanging out with his best friend Zane, and having his fuzzy hair brushed.

ChickenKaty is incredibly shy, hardly letting any human near her! She loves her hen friends, however, and is usually hanging out with at least 3 other ladies at a time. We imagine she’s the one organizing all the shenanigans in the yard and the coop! Pardon her disheveled look, she is working on growing feathers back after a tough molting season.
James
TurkeyJames came to us with his brother, Jesse. Both boys were purchased as female turkeys, but after just a few weeks of growing, it was clear they are male. In need of a home so close to Thanksgiving, Colby Corral was eager help them so they could be saved from someone’s dinner table. Now they roam around, getting fresh fruits and veggies every day!
Aretha
Chicken
Aretha got her name from singing us beautiful songs! She is a little on the older side and doesn’t lay eggs anymore, but that doesn’t make her any less beautiful. She always has something to sing about; from food to fun, she alerts the whole flock when anything goes down.
Jesse
TurkeyJesse is the brother of James; both boys were purchased by someone looking for female turkeys, only to watch them grow into big, handsome boys. Jesse is a lot more shy than his brother, and the two are never far apart as they roam free in their yard. On the hot days of the year, you’ll most likely see Jesse in his kiddie pool or lounging under the shade of big trees!
Blanche
ChickenBlanche is a no-nonsense hen who lives for feeding time. Blanche can always be spotted easily in the chicken run with her shiny, dark feathers. Her pecks can pack a punch, but we know she’s just looking for more treats!
Bert
Rooster
Bert was posted online as a “last chance” rooster, since he was being aggressive towards his owners. If someone didn’t take him, he would be killed. Turns out that he was living in a small area and most likely felt trapped when humans were near. Now he is running in the field with our 30 other chickens, and making friends quickly! He still puffs up if we get too close, but he is happier with room to roam.
Ethel
Ethel was a bit of a late bloomer, and we thought for sure he was a hen until the day he heard him crow! By the time we realized he was a rooster, the name had already stuck. He is young, a bit silly, and a wonderful protector of the flock. Although he blossomed a little later, he has grown to be the biggest of all our roosters with the loudest crow!

Dookie Shoe
Dookie Shoe’s silly name matches her silly personality. She is usually out causing trouble, occasionally sneaking out of the chicken run to lay her eggs on the porch before sneaking right back in.

Chicken
Alicia is easy to spot in the field, since she is the only hen in our flock with spurs! Prone to ingrown feathers, she has become used to being held and handled as we help her through her molts.
Opal
ChickenOpal is one of the leaders of the flock. She can always be found near her sister, Banono. She’s often found hanging out in a dust bath, and lays beautiful pastel green eggs for us to find.

Chicken
Banono and Opal — always a team! Banono gives us lots of entertainment with her bouncy jumps as she steals grapefruits right off the tree.
Dojo
ChickenDojo was added to the flock as a later rescue along with 3 other hens and a rooster. A family had taken on the 5 chickens, but could no longer keep them due to their feisty demeanor. Dojo got her name from her scrappy personality, and will not hesitate to put the other girls in check! She’s a bit “spicy,” but deep down she is a little lover.
Henrietta
ChickenHenrietta came with her sisters, Didget and Dojo. Prone to becoming broody, Henrietta has to be moved almost daily to keep her eating and drinking properly, as well as to collect everyone’s eggs out from under her! Her unique mix of chicken breeds makes her what’s known as a “zombie” chicken. Don’t worry, she doesn’t have a taste for brains, just meal worms.
Fredwina
Fredwina has a gorgeous comb that can be seen flopping around while she runs through the yard. She and her sisters are always looking for trouble. She prefers to be left alone by the humans, but loves hanging out with other chickens and cooling off in a kiddie pool.

Drucilla
ChickenDrucilla is the epitome of a chicken, always fluttering away at the first sign of danger. She looks almost identical to one of her sisters, Fredwina, and they both have shy, reserved personalities. Drucilla often looks like she is deep in thought… probably dreaming of mealworms and other treats!
Didget
ChickenDidget came with her sisters Henrietta and Dojo, rescued from a family who could no longer care for her. She got her name from a birth defect causing one of her toes to turn in an unusual way. Small in stature, she is big in personality, and will chase off any pigeon or ground squirrel that comes around looking for food!
Amy
ChickenAmy’s full name is Amy Farrah FOWLer. If you’ve seen the TV show The Big Bang Theory, you know where this name came from! Amy makes all the announcements in the coop, squawking and clucking any time people enter, hens lay eggs, or roosters come to visit. If we hear loud clucking anywhere on the property, a safe bet is that Amy is announcing the day’s events.
Wolowitz
RoosterWolowitz is head of the flock and makes sure the pecking order is kept in line! He is the perfect rooster and a perfect gentleman, making sure the girls are all safe and secure. He won’t even take treats until he knows the ladies are eating. He talks a lot and absolutely loves his flock.
Broomhilda
ChickenThis sassy girl is almost always hanging out with her sisters, Drucilla and Fredwina. She is not big on being pet, but she loves to splash around in puddles and snack on turnip greens when she can! She’s usually one of the first girls up in the morning. Careful of her stink-eye; she judges harshly with just one look!
